Dear KHMS Families,
We’ve had a busy week at KHMS with scheduling and awards assemblies. Sixth grade scheduling forms are due March 26, and seventh grade forms are due March 24. We also held awards assemblies for our 6th and 7th grade teams and were proud to recognize so many students for their accomplishments. Eighth grade awards assemblies will take place next Monday and Tuesday during Connect.
March is Reading Month continues, and it’s been great to see students engaging in a variety of activities throughout the building. From interactive challenges and collaborative events to student-led opportunities through Student Council, there has been a lot of excitement around reading. As a reminder, students can still participate in the reading competition by submitting a form in the lobby for each book they complete during March. Two winners will receive $25 Barnes & Noble gift cards, and the competition runs through March 31. We’ll wrap up the month with a reading-themed pep assembly on the last day before Spring Break.
We are still looking for volunteers for our upcoming Carnival Craze after-school event on Friday, March 27, from 2:45–4:30 PM. Volunteers must have a current background check on file for this school year. Thank you for considering helping make this a great event for our students!

Dear KHMS Families,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Parent-Teacher Conferences! Your partnership and commitment to your child’s education make a tremendous difference. We truly appreciate the time you took to connect with teachers and support your child’s growth. Please remember that while conferences are a dedicated time for these conversations, we always encourage families to keep the lines of communication open with teachers throughout the year.
We have also been enjoying many of our March is Reading Month activities! Students have participated in a mystery book passage competition, a mystery video reader challenge, a reading-themed escape room, book talks, and more. In addition, Student Council is running a reading competition. There is a box in the lobby where students can submit a form for each book they read during March for a chance to win one of two $25 Barnes & Noble gift cards. The competition runs through March 31.
The 2026–2027 scheduling process at the middle school has begun. Our 8th grade students met with high school counselors on March 10–11. Seventh graders will begin the scheduling process on March 16, and sixth graders will begin on March 19.

Dear KHMS Families,
Thank you to the many parents who joined us for Spring Conferences Thursday evening. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with you in supporting your child’s success. If you were unable to attend, we still have two conference opportunities available: March 10 from 4:00–7:30 PM and March 13 from 12:30–2:30 PM. Please use the Spring Conference Sign Up if you would like to schedule a time.
Thank you as well to the 28 families who have already completed our School Improvement survey for families. Your feedback is very helpful as we continue working to improve the middle school experience. The survey deadline has been extended to Friday, March 13.
Our High School will host an 8th Grade Parent/Student Information Night this Tuesday at 7:00 PM in the High School PAC. The event will give an overview of the high school experience and help prepare students and families for the 2026–2027 scheduling process at the middle school. 8th grade students will meet with high school counselors on March 10–11, followed by 7th grade scheduling the week of March 16 and 6th grade on March 19. We hope many 8th grade families can attend while already in the building for conferences. Please see the flyer in this newsletter for more information, and watch next week’s newsletter for course selection sheets and additional details.
