What is K-Knights?
K-Knights (also known as Young 5s) is a tuition-free program designed to teach skills that students need to start kindergarten and is open (but not limited) to children whose 5th birthday falls between June and September 1st. It may also be a good fit for those children who have no preschool experience. Your child will experience a fun, creative, encouraging, child-centered environment while learning to work both independently and collaboratively. Kindergarten skills and behavior are emphasized while students are given the support they need to find success at their level of learning and development. To see if this program would be a good fit for your child, please attend one of the orientations above at your home school. Information about K-Knights will also be provided at the March 1 parent meeting.
If you reside outside of the Kenowa Hills boundaries, you are welcome to attend the parent meeting and the orientation at one of our elementary schools. This does not guarantee your child a Schools of Choice spot in kindergarten. The Schools of Choice window will open April 11 and close on May 13. More details about Schools of Choice can be found here.
Thank you for considering Kenowa Hills Public Schools. We look forward to meeting you at the parent meeting on March 1 at the Café at Central Elementary!
