Feyen Zylstra FIRST Robotics at Kenowa Hills
The Feyen Zylstra FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics program at Kenowa Hills is a national program to inspire KHPS students to be science and technology leaders. It engages students in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, innovation, and technology skills. FIRST Robotics fosters well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
FIRST Robotics Competitions
Through local, statewide and national competitions, students put engineering skills to work under real-time deadlines and build skilled robots. Through the building process and competition preparation, students find a passion for science and engineering and learn practical skills for innovation, which is vital in today’s workforce.
Building STEM Interest
The FIRST Robotics program is a highly engaging and fun program that encourages students to have an interest in a variety of subjects. While it may appear as though the students are just having fun, tinkering with parts and tools promotes interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics - commonly known as STEM.
This program would not be possible, without the support from local businesses. In addition to Feyen Zylstra, other supportive businesses give as well.
