The Kenowa Hills High School Athletic Department, in conjunction with Home Team Grill and Sobie Meats, are proud to highlight outstanding student athletes as part of our Athlete of the Month program. This program awards one male and one female student athlete from their respective team. These student athletes are nominated by coaches and voted for by a panel of administrators, teachers, and peers. The recipients of this award must also be standouts in the classroom and in the community.
Athletes of the Month
Gracie Teerman is a senior outside hitter for the varsity volleyball team at Kenowa Hills. As a co-captain, Gracie is an enthusiastic leader for her team in addition to contributing with her strong serve, passing and incredible hustle. Gracie also maintains a 3.813 GPA, making her an outstanding student-athlete to represent the Knights. Great job, Gracie!
Avrey Smith is a senior captain of the cross country team. He is also one of the top 8 runners in the OK Black conference. This year he has medaled at the Cougar/Falcon Invitational and ran his personal best the Allendale Invite with a time of 17:01. Avrey also volunteers his time helping out at the middle school cross country races and also at the Lake Michigan Bridge Run in downtown Grand Rapids.
Congratulations to both athletes. GO KNIGHTS!
