Another Great Girls on the Run Season Concludes

Approximately twenty five girls in grades three through five participated in the Girls On The Run (GOTR) program once again this year. The GOTR program benefits our students as it teaches them about individual strength, team participation, community involvement and healthy habits. The girls met on Tuesdays and Thursdays over the past few months to get ready for the season ending 5K run which was held on May 19th. The girls did a wonderful job putting forth their personal best and showing friendship to others throughout the season. We would like to thank the girls themselves for using perseverance to complete the 5K practice run as well as the 5K county wide run, the coaches who encouraged them each week, the parents who supported their daughters throughout the season, the "running buddies" who ran alongside the girls at the practice run and the county wide run and the local businesses who helped with the end of season dinner. Amore and TGI Friday's donated a wonderful dinner for the girls and their parents the Thursday before the run.

Please contact Julie Beebe if you know that your daughter may be interested in participating next year as we would like to get an idea of how many teams we will need. Students in 3rd through 5th grade are able to participate and the season runs from the beginning of March through the middle of May.
