To our third grade students,
We wanted to welcome each of you to third grade! We hope you have had a terrific
summer and feel ready to come back to school.
Often students and parents have questions about school supplies. Kenowa Hills
provides the materials students need, but many students like to have their own
supplies at their desk or work area. Here are suggested school supplies for third
grade:
•A pack of #2 pencils
•Large eraser
•Fine tipped markers
•Large glue sticks
•Colored pencils
•Crayons
•Student scissors
•Small pencil sharpener
•Pencil box
•Six 2-pocket folders
•Box of kleenex
Please remember to put your name on your school supplies. No trapper keepers
please! We also ask that students bring a water bottle and healthy snack to school
each day!
Many of you may be wondering what third grade will be like. We will be exploring
all sorts of new skills and concepts in reading, math, writing, science, and social
studies. The first week of school we will establish a supportive, caring classroom
community using the lifelong guidelines of active listening, truthfulness,
trustworthiness, no put downs, and personal best! We are so excited about all that
you will learn and look forward to a wonderful year!
