Alpine Elementary's Food Drive Results

Food Drive.jpg

Alpine Elementary's annual food drive has come to end and we are excited to share the results! Our students were able to collect 971 pounds of food. That is almost a half ton of food that will be donated families in need in our community. The food was organized into 11 food baskets that will be delivered to families before Thanksgiving break. Each basket includes a gift card to purchase other necessary items that may be needed to have a wonderful Thanksgiving meal.

Students donated non-perishable food items and raised money to buy food for the baskets by bringing a dollar to wear a hat on hat day. In addition, Alpine staff raised money by donating five dollars to wear jeans on jean day. As a school we raised over $200.00. This money was used to purchase further items for the baskets.

Assisting us in our drive was our community partners Crowe-Howrath. Along with donating non-perishable items to the baskets, their staff raised over $300.00 to add to our total for purchasing food.

Lastly, I would like to extend a special thank you to Heeren Brothers Produce and Aseltine Cider Company for donating apples and cider to our food drive.
