March is Reading Month & Read N' Give

As mentioned in Principal's News, March is reading month and there are various things taking place at Alpine Elementary. A copy of March's reading activities is attached below.

In connection with reading month, Alpine Elementary students will be participating in a book drive known as Read N’ Give. Students will be collecting and donating books to Greater Grand Rapids Reads (United Way - Schools of Hope) and the Dominican Sisters (Homework Assistance and Skill Development Program). This service learning event was a great success last year and we are excited to try it again. Much like our other service learning projects, will be partnering with Crowe-Horwath and the LEAGUE.

Lastly, the Alpine PTO will be having a book fair and ice cream social on March 12 from 6:00 to 8:00. Classrooms will be previewing the book fair on Tuesday, March 11 to begin getting ideas of some books they would like to purchase. This year's theme is Lights, Camera, Book Fair! All Kenowa families are welcome to attend. Hope to see you there!
