Alpine Elementary: Food Drive Results

ALMovingBoxes.JPG

Throughout the month of November, students at Alpine Elementary participated in a "Hunger Drive". The students collected non-perishable food items that were organized at the end of the month into Thanksgiving food baskets to support families in our school community. In addition, our school held a "Hat Day" to raise money to purchase Thanksgiving turkeys. Students could wear a hat at school by donating $1.00 towards the total cost of meat.

As the drive reached its completion, various students helped organize and count the items donated. In addition, students helped to package the boxes and load them for delivery.

Overall, Alpine Elementary collected 497 items of food that weighed over 690 pounds! We were able to provide meals for 16 families with an additional amount of food donated to Second Harvest food bank.

Great Job, Alpine!
