Kenowa Hills Middle School's Open House will be held on Wednesday, September 8th at 7:00 PM in the gymnasium. After a brief presentation in the gymnasium, parents will have the opportunity to tour the school and classrooms. Refreshments to follow in the cafeteria. We hope to see you there!

SPORTS PHYSICALS FOR THE 2010/2011 SCHOOL YEAR

DON'T FORGET!! Sports physicals for fall sports are due by September 7th. Sports physicals must be on file in the Middle School office before a student may practice or participate in a sport.

These are the online services that are now available through our Food Service Point of Sale (POS) system: SendMoneyToSchool.com and LunchApp.com.

SendMoneyToSchool.com enables you to view your child’s account history and food choice details at no charge. In addition, you will be able to deposit money into your child’s account using your debit/credit card. There is a nominal service fee when utilizing this electronic deposit feature. This web site is easy to use. All you need to begin using this site is your child’s student ID#.

KENOWA HILLS ODYSSEY OF THE MIND TEAM GOES TO WORLD COMPETITION

The Kenowa Hills Oydessy of the Mind team competed in the World Finals at Michigan State University. Their topic was Return to the Gift of Flight. They did a tremendous job with a very challenging assignment. “They had to design a series of aircrafts that had to complete a variety of challenging tasks with a creative air traffic controller who had to keep the flights in order during the team performance.” Their presentation was incredible. We are very proud of the team. Thank you to the coaches , parents and the community sponsors.

Trip to Michigan's Adventure

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On May 28th we will be going to Michigan’s Adventure. The cost of the field trip is $20, which includes lunch. The money is due by May 21st. If you are paying by check, please make it payable to Kenowa Hills Middle School. If your child would like to participate in miniature golf, arcade games, or to purchase snacks, please have them bring additional money.

There have been some questions brought up about the field trip. Some of these questions are addressed below.

7th Grade Language Arts Summer Class

A 7th grade Summer Language Arts Class will be offered this summer at the High School. Your student's Language Arts Teachers will be recommending students for this class and a letter will me mailed. If you have any questions, contact your student's teacher or Student Services at 647-0909.

Algebra 1A Credit Given - Summer Math Skill Sharpener - Summer 7th Grade Pre-Algebra Review Class

Algebra 1A:

If your 8th grade student completed Algebra IA, he/she has started his/her high school GPA. If he/she is satisfied with the grades earned as an 8th grader in this class, they would choose to move on to Algebra IB as a freshman. He/She may need to take the class again either to improve their grade or earn the credit. If your student received a failing grade in either semester of Algebra IA, the entire class will need to be re-taken.

Note: If summer school is not taken advantage of, the student will be automatically enrolled in full paced Algebra I at the high school. This is a faster paced class that moves through the entire Algebra curriculum in just one year, as opposed to two years as Algebra IA and Algebra IB.
