Alpine PTO

Our 2012 - 2013 PTO plan is to provide continued commitment to the staff and students at Alpine Elementary. This commitment comes in many forms. The PTO provides volunteers and/or funding for the following:

• School assemblies
• Field Trips
• Bussing for Field Trips
• Watch D.O.G.S.
• Online Reading Resources for Students
• Classroom Resources
• Classroom Magazine Subscriptions
• Symphony Partnership
• Accelerated Reader Prizes
• Holiday Food Drive
• Daddy Daughter Dance
• Mother/Son V.I.P. Night
• Carnival
• Movie Night
• Book Fair
• Pastries with Parents
• School Picnic

There are also many ‘little extras’ provided by our PTO that our elementary has grown to depend on.

CURRENT NEEDS:
*Our PTO is looking for volunteers for the 2012/2013 school year. If you are interested, please contact our PTO volunteer coordinator, Jill Ratajczak. Send an email to khpsalpinepto@gmail.com or call the school at 784-0884.

The PTO will have volunteer sign-up sheets available at the Open House and will also send them home with students the first week of school. If you need a copy of this form, see the attachment. Thank you for any time you can give this year. We appreciate your support!

The Alpine PTO collects Box Tops for Education and Labels for Educations. Please save these and send them to school with your child. It helps us greatly if you clip them before you send them in! As an added incentive, the class that collects the most Box Tops earns great prizes! Last year we earned more than $1,500 from Box Tops! We are also collecting My Coke Rewards points now. These are found on packs of pop cans as well as 20 ounce tops. It is easy to create an account online and enter the points and then donate them to Alpine. Otherwise, just send them into school and we will take care of it! You can also support the PTO by using your Meijer Card, Target Credit Card and Gordon Food Service card. Thank you for your support!

We have many fun, family-friendly events planned for the school year as well as several fundraisers for the PTO. See the attached calendar for more information.

Our last PTO meeting of the year was held on Tuesday, May 14th at 6:30 P.M. in the teacher's lounge. Thank you to everyone who attended PTO meetings this year as well as though who have volunteered for the PTO events that were held. We have attached the minutes from the meetings this year below.

We will be sending bi-monthly PTO newsletters this year to help keep parents up to date on school activities and PTO-related activities and programs. See the attachments for the newsletters. Newsletters will also be sent home in backpacks.
