At Alpine Elementary, we strive to provide students with strategies and opportunities to become successful learners. Teachers use a variety of resources and strategies to engage every learner. Students experiencing challenges in the core content areas may work with intervention specialists. Intervention is provided through small group instruction to strengthen academic skills. Interventions are varied to meet the needs of individual students. A partnership between students, parents, classroom teachers and the intervention specialists is vital to student success.

Alpine Elementary has a school wide focus on brain based research and learning. All staff members have been trained in how the brain works and what crucial elements are needed to allow the brain to work at full potential. Furthermore, all staff members have been trained in how to apply this knowledge of the brain to how children learn best. Teachers at Alpine Elementary focus on student learning by utilizing best practices daily.

At Alpine Elementary students are fortunate to be able to visit various places during the school day. When students go on these excursions they are called study trips. We use the term study trips as opposed to field trips because each trip connects to an aspect of the grade level curriculum. On these trips students are able to have a real world experience that will provide for a better understanding of a particular concept.
